The Massachusetts Water Forum is free, but registration is mandatory since space is limited. This year's event will follow the UN's 2021 theme of Valuing Water by showcasing a number of innovative ways the Commonwealth can become more water-friendly as it moves towards very challenging times on the climate front. “Valuing Water” is an opportunity to think about how to best guarantee adequate clean water to people across all Massachusetts communities for their many needs.
The Water Forum will utilize the "Shark Tank" model to bring creative water-friendly ideas to the fore. This contest is geared towards innovators/entrepreneurs/start-ups who are focused on making a difference in the realm of water. There are two rounds: (1) this call for innovators will have the proposals judged by an independent jury. (2) The winners will be asked to pitch their ideas at the Water Forum on Monday, March 22nd at 12:00 pm. The winner(s) of the 9th Annual Mass. Water Forum pitch contest will be asked to present before a Congressional committee of the Massachusetts legislature at a later date and publicized on social media.
We hereby invite innovators from Massachusetts and elsewhere to propose their forward-thinking approaches about ways to make the Commonwealth more water-friendly, with a slight preference to be given for those from Massachusetts. Ideas might range from rainwater-harvesting systems, improved surface permeability, designing/planting gardens to mitigate issues such as saltwater intrusion, water conservation measures, and more. Your ideas can take the form of a design, a presentation, and/or an app AND can rely on nature, technology (blue tech, green tech or other), robotics, biomimicry or something else. Bring your best thoughts forward!
