Each year, the Massachusetts Water Forum unites legislators, local elected officials, water specialists, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, community members and landscape architects, designers and planners with a view to actively discussing policy change re: issues pertaining to our water resources.
Each year, the Massachusetts Water Forum & Youth Summit unites high school students with legislators, water specialists, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, landscape architects, designers, planners -- and other students! -- to an active discussion about issues pertaining to our water resources, especially as related to climate action and creating resilient communities.
In honor of United Nations World Water Day, the 10th Annual Massachusetts Water Forum is hosted by Foundation for a Green Future along with the European Union Tech Chamber (EUTECC) and its Environmental Alliance Group, Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC), Boston Society of Landscape Architects (BSLA), and Apparel Impact. In honor of United Nations World Water Day, the 10th Annual Massachusetts Water Youth Summit is hosted by Foundation for a Green Future along with Project Green Schools, Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC), Conscious Coalition, Boston Society of Landscape Architects (BSLA), YoDo Cameroon, and others. The Massachusetts Water Forum is free, but registration is mandatory since space is limited. This year's event will follow the UN's 2021 theme of Valuing Water by showcasing a number of innovative ways the Commonwealth can become more water-friendly as it moves towards very challenging times on the climate front. “Valuing Water” is an opportunity to think about how to best guarantee adequate clean water to people across all Massachusetts communities for their many needs.
The Youth Summit will utilize the "Shark Tank" model to bring creative water-friendly ideas to the fore. Students from Massachusetts and elsewhere will have the opportunity to pitch their forward-thinking approaches about ways to make their schools more water-friendly, however preference will be given for those from Massachusetts. CANCELLED: The 8th Annual Massachusetts Water Forum and Youth Summit will be co-sponsored by Senator Anne Gobi and Representative Smitty Pignatelli in honor of the United Nation's World Water Day. This year's event carries through on the UN's theme of "Water & Climate Change" by exploring water resilience in a time of climate uncertainty.
This is an opportunity for high school youth to connect, learn about and discuss the issues around drinking water in the Commonwealth and the world.
